Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Footwear Designer role based in Mumbai. The Footwear Designer will develop original footwear concepts, create detailed technical drawings, and translate design ideas into production-ready specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching trends and materials, preparing mood boards, collaborating with product development and production teams, and refining prototypes based on fit, comfort, and aesthetic feedback. The role involves working with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet brand standards, target cost, and manufacturing requirements, while supporting timely collection launches and updates.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong design skills in Technical Drawing and Product Design to create clear, production-ready footwear concepts.
- Candidates should possess Industrial Design and Product Development skills to guide designs from concept through prototyping and final manufacturing.
- Candidates should possess skills in creating Mood Boards and visual concept presentations to communicate themes, materials, and color stories.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD tools) and familiarity with footwear materials, construction, and last development.
- Strong sense of style, trend awareness, and understanding of commercial viability in footwear collections.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with merchandising, sourcing, and production teams on-site.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Footwear Design, Fashion Design, Industrial Design, or a closely related field; prior experience in footwear or accessories design is an advantage.
