Job Title : Design Engineer

Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our company. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, developing, and supporting mechanical systems and components for machines and equipment, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, cost effectiveness, and compliance with applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for machine components, assemblies, and systems.
- Perform concept design, detailed design, and design optimization based on customer requirements and internal specifications.
- Select appropriate materials, tolerances, fits, surface finishes, and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct design calculations for strength, stiffness, vibration, thermal effects, and life where applicable.
- Release manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
- Provide technical support to production, assembly, and quality teams.
- Resolve shop-floor issues, fitment problems, and design deviations.
- Support cost reduction, value engineering, and standardization initiatives.
- Coordinate with sales, process, service, and procurement teams.
- Support technical clarifications, and design modifications.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of machine design fundamentals.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software
- Understanding of manufacturing processes like machining, grinding, heat treatment, assembly
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and surface finish requirements.
- Exposure to electricals, pneumatics, bearings, drives, motors is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- BE / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- 2–4 years’ experience as Design Engineer
- Experience in machine tools / industrial machinery will be preferred
