Associate Category Manager – Job Description
Role Overview: The Associate Category Manager supports the growth and management of a specific product category by assisting with vendor coordination, assortment planning, pricing analysis, and category performance tracking. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the category meets revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in executing category strategy to achieve sales and growth targets.
- Conduct market research and track industry trends to identify opportunities.
- Coordinate with vendors and brands for product listings, pricing updates, and inventory management.
- Support onboarding of new brands and maintain vendor relationships.
- Ensure product catalog accuracy including descriptions, pricing, and product information.
- Monitor product performance and recommend assortment improvements.
- Track competitor pricing and support promotional campaigns and product launches.
- Analyze category performance metrics such as sales, margins, sell-through, and inventory turnover.
- Prepare weekly or monthly performance reports.
- Collaborate with marketing, merchandising, operations, and supply chain teams.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Retail, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel.
- Good communication and vendor management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup or retail environment.
