Role Description
The Industrial Design Intern will support the design team in developing user-centred product concepts and translating ideas into tangible design outcomes. This full-time, on-site role is based in Bangalore Urban and involves assisting with concept generation, sketching, 3D modelling, and preparing presentations and documentation for internal reviews and client meetings. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, contributing to design thinking workshops, participating in prototyping activities, and refining designs based on feedback and usability considerations. The intern will also help research materials, manufacturing processes, and trends to inform design decisions and ensure concepts are aligned with technical feasibility and brand requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Industrial Design and Product Design, with the ability to apply design principles to real-world projects.
- Ability to generate and communicate ideas through Concept Generation, sketching, and visual storytelling.
- Familiarity with Design Thinking methodologies, including user research, empathy mapping, and iterative design.
- Experience or coursework in Prototyping, including basic model-making and the use of relevant tools or rapid prototyping technologies.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in design and visualisation software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Rhino) is highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Interest in emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes, with a willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
