Role Description The Software Engineering Manager at GuavaSure will lead an engineering team responsible for building and scaling the platform that powers pet wellness, insurance access, and real-time veterinary support. This full-time, on-site role is based in Bengaluru and involves overseeing end-to-end software development, from architecture and design through implementation, testing, and deployment. The manager will plan and prioritize projects, coordinate with product, design, operations, and data teams, and ensure high-quality, secure, and reliable systems, including distributed and backend services. Day-to-day responsibilities include mentoring engineers, driving technical best practices, conducting code and design reviews, improving development processes, and monitoring system performance and reliability. The role also includes contributing to technical strategy, helping define the product roadmap, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and outcomes-focused engineering culture.
Qualifications
- Strong software development skills, with experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining production-scale systems.
- Demonstrated team leadership abilities, including mentoring, performance management, and building inclusive, high-performing engineering teams.
- Expertise in software design, including architectural patterns, API design, and scalable system design.
- Proficiency in project management, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver complex engineering initiatives on schedule.
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with modern development practices, such as CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and security best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across product, operations, and business teams.
- Experience in consumer technology, healthtech, or fintech platforms is an advantage; interest in pet wellness and insurance is highly beneficial.
