Who We Are
Nbyula is an AI-native brand supercharging global talent mobility. We're building the world's fastest-growing agentic platform, breaking down borders so students and professionals can study, train and work anywhere in the world. And we are moving at breakneck speed. We’ve driven $14.6M+ in GMV (67X YoY growth).
With 2.5M+ website visits, 700k+ total users, and our proprietary AI agents sending over 800k+ messages with a <3 Second response time, we’ve cracked the code. Our ecosystem operates at an incredible customer acquisition and tech ops cost per user. We handle the full journey, and we need elite operators who are ready to scale with us.
The Opportunity
At Nbyula, we operate like a pro sports team, not a family. We trade traditional corporate bureaucracy for extreme autonomy—but we demand elite performance in return.
We're looking for an Operations Engineer. You will own a cohort of paying students from the moment they pay until they get an admit. You'll shortlist programs with them, help them produce SOPs and LORs, push them through language and test prep, file applications, arrange education loans, find accommodation, and handle remittance. You'll do all of this using our internal tooling — and because you're sitting inside the workflow every single day, you'll be the first person to know what's broken, what's slow, and what we should build next. You'll work directly with product and engineering to ship those fixes.
This is not a counsellor role. This is not a CRM-pusher role. This is a "be the operator, be the customer, be the PM" role — three hats, one person, every day.
What You'll Do
Run the student journey (≈60% of time)
- Onboard newly-paid students within 24 hours; co-create a 6–12 month roadmap with them
- Drive program shortlisting — verify eligibility, deadlines, budgets, target intake
- Coordinate document production: SOPs, LORs, transcripts, financial proofs, visa docs
- Stay on top of language prep (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE), test prep (GRE/GMAT where needed), application filings
- Coordinate loans (Avanse, Prodigy, Mpower, etc.), accommodation, remittance, forex
- Be the single point of contact the student trusts when something goes wrong
Be the in-house product researcher (≈30% of time)
- For every student touchpoint, log: what worked, what felt clunky, what cost us 30 minutes that a feature could've solved in 3
- Convert that into weekly written notes shared with product and engineering — "here are the 3 things I'd build next, here's the data"
- Sit in on product reviews; defend what your students need
Make the system better (≈10% of time)
- Build better templates, build playbooks, document edge cases
- Help test and dogfood new internal tools (the AI assistants, the dashboards, the workflows)
- Bring back honest feedback — "this AI tool hallucinated this requirement and I caught it; here's how we should guard against that"
What We're Looking For
- Sharp generalist with a technical brain. You don't need to code, but you need to understand how software works — APIs, databases, automation, what an "if-this-then-that" rule is, why some workflows are easy to automate and some aren't.
- Operator instincts. You'd rather close 5 student loops cleanly than open 50 loosely.
- High agency. Nobody will hand you a checklist of "the 27 things to do this week". You'll build the checklist, run it, and improve it.
- Comfortable with ambiguity. Half the playbooks don't exist yet. You'll write the first version.
- Genuinely curious about students. You enjoy talking to 22-year-olds about their lives, not just their applications.
What You Get
- Top-of-Market Growth: We don't do standard pay bands or fixed annual raises. We constantly evaluate your market value and pay top dollar to attract and keep the absolute best.
- Zero hassle Time Off (For Real): We don't track office hours or hassle you for vacation days. You decide when you need a break—whether it's a Tuesday afternoon or a long annual break. All we care about is elite performance; your time is your concern.
- Total Financial & Decision Autonomy: No multi-level approvals or red tape. If a tool or process helps you do your job better, you make the call. You own your decisions.
- Elite Company: You’ll be surrounded by "stunning colleagues." We only keep elite performers, which means you're always playing alongside the best.
- Ownership: The opportunity to own a piece of a company (stock options) that is actively tearing down borders and redefining a $255B+ market.
