About the Role
upGrad’s YouTube team is looking for a Social Media Operations Executive to manage the daily publishing and distribution of micro-learning content across YouTube, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn and owned messaging channels.
This is an execution-focused role involving content publishing, video repurposing, metadata, quality checks, performance reporting and coordination with content, editing and design teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the weekly content calendar across YouTube, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn and WhatsApp/Telegram/email channels.
• Schedule and publish content with accurate titles, descriptions, tags, hashtags, thumbnails, playlists, end screens, pinned comments and links.
• Repurpose long-form videos, faculty sessions and learner stories into engaging 30–90 second micro-learning videos.
• Trim and reframe videos, add captions and on-screen text, and export clean vertical assets.
• Write engaging hooks, captions, titles and CTAs for different platforms.
• Conduct pre-publishing quality checks covering aspect ratio, safe zones, audio, captions, spelling, links, branding and content accuracy.
• Maintain organised folders, file naming conventions, version control and content archives.
• Track views, retention, average view duration, saves, shares, follows and click-through rates.
• Prepare weekly performance reports and maintain a record of content tests and outcomes.
• Monitor comments and DMs, respond within defined timelines and escalate sensitive or inaccurate information.
• Coordinate with content, design, editing, performance marketing and external agency teams to ensure timely publishing.
Required Skills and Experience
• 1–3 years of experience in social media operations, content publishing or channel management for a brand, creator, agency or media company.
• Hands-on experience with YouTube Studio, YouTube Shorts, Instagram and LinkedIn publishing.
• Working knowledge of video-editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Descript or equivalent.
• Strong written English and the ability to write natural, engaging hooks and captions.
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, platform analytics and retention reports.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with daily publishing deadlines.
• Willingness to support planned evening or weekend publishing rotations when required.
Good to Have
• Experience in edtech, education or creator-led content.
• Hindi or regional-language writing ability.
• Familiarity with Canva, Figma, Notion, Asana, Airtable, Buffer, Later or Sprout.
• Experience with WhatsApp Business, CleverTap, MoEngage, Braze or similar platforms.
• Experience managing or growing a personal social media page, YouTube channel or newsletter.
