About The Role
The Vendor Program Manager at Tech Data plays a pivotal role in developing and executing comprehensive vendor marketing strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives. This position involves managing an assigned product category, understanding market trends, and identifying new market opportunities to drive growth. The role requires close collaboration with vendor partners, internal marketing teams, and senior leadership to ensure seamless execution of marketing initiatives. The Vendor Program Manager will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with vendors, managing marketing budgets, and overseeing the creation of marketing materials and campaigns. This position also entails analyzing sales data, monitoring ROI, and adjusting strategies to maximize profitability and market impact. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with proven experience in channel marketing, project management, and team leadership, capable of navigating a dynamic environment while delivering measurable results.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a minimum of 10+ years of experience in product management, channel marketing, or B2C marketing. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field is required. Prior experience managing marketing budgets within a channel marketing setting is highly desirable, along with a strong understanding of distribution channels pertinent to the industry. Experience working as a channel marketing manager or in a similar role is considered a significant advantage. The successful candidate will have excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle complex, multi-faceted initiatives. Strong leadership skills are essential, including managing small teams and influencing senior stakeholders. A solid grasp of current digital marketing strategies, including online communication channels, social media, and new media platforms, is necessary. The candidate should demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required, along with proven experience in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement. Networking with industry thought leaders and influencers to inform innovative marketing approaches is also valued.
Responsibilities
The Vendor Program Manager will be responsible for a broad spectrum of activities to ensure the successful execution of vendor marketing programs. Key responsibilities include assisting vendors in creating effective product marketing strategies and working closely with client executives to develop account-based marketing plans for strategic partners. Managing and nurturing marketing relationships with vendors, including maintaining detailed marketing plans, overseeing co-op and MDF budgets, and representing the company in marketing-related business meetings, are critical components of this role. The manager will coach and direct marketing teams, delegating projects to ensure timely and quality execution. Acting as a marketing consultant, the manager will provide strategic guidance on product positioning and marketing initiatives aligned with vendor objectives. Developing and maintaining three-month rolling marketing plans that encompass various tactics such as print advertising, direct mail, digital marketing, training programs, and sales awareness campaigns is essential. The role also involves monitoring marketing profitability, analyzing sales trends, and preparing monthly and quarterly ROI reports. Coordinating project materials with vendors, tracking campaign progress, and ensuring alignment with revenue, expense, and profit goals are key operational duties. The manager will also work closely with product managers to interpret sales data, identify market trends, and adjust strategies accordingly to maximize revenue and market share.
