We are looking for a Scrum Master for one of our clients.
Our client is looking for Scrum Master for an advanced analytics and data intelligence platform that harnesses a diverse portfolio of 50+ alternative datasets to deliver real-time market intelligence and customer insights. Through tailored analytics and innovative tools, Pyxis empowers clients to understand market dynamics, product performance, customer behavior, and advertising trends. Our mission is to provide unparalleled competitive intelligence by integrating rich data and insights that drive smarter, faster business decisions.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join the Pyxis platform team. This is a dual-hat role that combines hands-on Agile delivery leadership with broader program management responsibilities spanning cross-functional technical initiatives. You will be the delivery engine for one or more engineering squads, ensuring teams operate at peak efficiency while also driving alignment, governance, and execution at the program level.
The ideal candidate is a certified Scrum Master with a strong technical background, who understands how software is built and can credibly engage with engineers, product managers, architects, and senior stakeholders. You bring structure without bureaucracy, and keep teams accountable while removing obstacles that slow them down.
Key Responsibilities
1. Agile Delivery & Scrum Facilitation
- Own and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
- Guide and coach engineering teams in Agile best practices, helping them self-organize and continuously improve velocity and quality.
- Track sprint progress, identify blockers, and drive timely resolution to keep teams on track.
- Maintain healthy team backlogs in collaboration with Product Managers; ensure user stories are well-defined, estimated, and prioritized.
- Promote a culture of transparency, inspection, and adaptation across all squads.
2. Technical Program Management
- Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of cross-team technical programs and initiatives across the Pyxis platform.
- Define and manage program milestones, dependencies, risks, and delivery roadmaps in coordination with engineering leads and product stakeholders.
- Coordinate across multiple engineering squads (frontend, backend, DevOps, QA) to ensure integrated delivery with minimal friction.
- Maintain program-level visibility through structured status reporting, dashboards, and stakeholder communication.
- Drive release planning, change management, and go-live coordination activities.
3. Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for delivery status, risks, and escalations for your program area.
- Facilitate regular program reviews and steering meetings with engineering leadership and senior stakeholders.
4. Risk, Dependency & Impediment Management
- Identify, track, and mitigate risks and dependencies at both the squad and program level.
- Escalate impediments promptly and drive resolution across engineering, product, and operations teams.
5. Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Define and track Agile delivery metrics: velocity, cycle time, sprint burndown, defect rates, and release frequency.
6. Tooling & Process Governance
- Administer and optimize Agile tooling (e.g., Jira, Confluence) to reflect accurate program and sprint-level visibility.
- Establish and maintain lightweight delivery frameworks and templates (sprint cadences, escalation paths, RACI, etc.).
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 3–4 years of experience in Agile delivery, Scrum Master, or Technical Program Management roles within a software engineering environment.
- Active Scrum Master certification required: CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or PSM (Professional Scrum Master) — higher-level certifications (A-CSM, PSM II) preferred.
- Proven track record of managing Agile delivery for technical software products, ideally in a SaaS or analytics platform context.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including frontend/backend engineering, APIs, CI/CD, and release management.
- Hands-on experience with Agile tooling such as Jira and Confluence for sprint tracking, backlog management, and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional dependencies and stakeholder expectations at the program level.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to operate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Experience
- Additional Agile or project management certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, or A-CSM.
- Prior experience as a software engineer, QA engineer, or technical analyst — hands-on technical background strongly valued.
- Exposure to scaled Agile frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or Spotify model in multi-squad environments.
