Role Description The Cutlist Specialist / Expert is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for translating approved interior designs into detailed, accurate cutlists for production and installation. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings and 3D layouts, calculating material dimensions and quantities, and preparing cutlists for panels, hardware, edge-banding, and accessories. The role involves coordinating with designers, production staff, and site supervisors to clarify technical details, resolve discrepancies, and optimize material usage. The specialist verifies measurements from site, updates cutlists to reflect design changes, and maintains organized documentation for each project. This role also supports quality checks to ensure that manufactured components match the cutlist and align with design specifications.
Qualifications
- Strong ability to read and interpret interior design drawings, technical diagrams, and layout plans.
- Experience preparing accurate cutlists for modular furniture, cabinetry, or interior fit-outs, with attention to detail and minimal errors.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design/CAD software; cutlist or manufacturing planning tools).
- Solid understanding of materials used in interiors (plywood, MDF, laminates, edge banding, hardware, fittings) and standard construction methods.
- Good numerical and measurement skills, including unit conversions, dimension verification, and basic optimization of material usage.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with designers, production teams, and site coordinators.
- Organized documentation and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Prior experience in modular furniture manufacturing, carpentry detailing, or interior project execution is preferred.
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field is beneficial, along with relevant practical experience.
