As the Engineering Manager - Data Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a team of data engineers to build, maintain, and optimize our data pipelines, warehouses, and infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of our data solutions, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor and grow a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Design, develop and maintain robust data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Drive automation and optimization of data workflows to improve efficiency and performance.
- Define best practices for data modeling, storage, and processing.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot data infrastructure issues proactively.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and architecture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience (4+ years) in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong expertise in SQL, Python, Spark, Kafka, or similar data processing tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with machine learning data pipelines.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices for data infrastructure.
- Certifications in cloud or data engineering (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics).
