Role Description
As a FastAPI Experienced Backend Engineer (Volunteer), you will support the design, development, and maintenance of backend services that power The Tann Mann Gaadi’s technology-driven solutions as well as fundraising initiatives. You will build and optimize RESTful APIs using FastAPI, integrate databases, implement authentication and authorization, and ensure scalability, reliability, and security of backend systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, well-documented code, troubleshooting and debugging issues, collaborating with front-end contributors, and participating in code reviews. You will also help refine system architecture, improve performance, and contribute ideas that enhance the impact of the platform. This is a volunteer role and is fully remote.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Back-End Web Development skills, including experience with FastAPI or similar Python frameworks and API design.
- Backed Architecture creation skills would essential.
- Candidates should possess Software Development skills, including version control (e.g., Git), testing practices, and familiarity with development workflows.
- Candidates should possess Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) skills and a solid understanding of software architecture and design principles.
- Candidates should possess Programming skills in Python and be comfortable working with data models, integrations, and automated scripts.
- Candidates should possess basic Front-End Development awareness to collaborate effectively with UI/UX and front-end contributors.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, cloud platforms or deployment tools, and API security best practices is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, volunteer setting, with strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
- Prior experience in social impact, non-profit projects, or interest in public health and sanitation initiatives is a plus.
- Prior experience with SaaS products backend would be very useful.
- Experience of 4 to 22 years preferred .
