Role Description The Head of Platform Engineering is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune City, responsible for leading the design, development, and evolution of Vivid Pulse’s core platforms. This role involves overseeing engineering teams, setting technical direction, and ensuring scalable, secure, and reliable systems to support high-volume job search and employer engagement. The Head of Platform Engineering will collaborate with product, operations, and business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, plan projects, and translate requirements into robust engineering solutions. Daily activities include managing engineering roadmaps, reviewing architecture and code, mentoring team members, optimizing development processes, and driving continuous improvement in platform performance and quality.
Qualifications
- Strong team leadership and team management skills, with experience building, coaching, and retaining high-performing engineering teams.
- Proven engineering management background, including ownership of complex platforms, architectural decisions, and technical strategy.
- Solid project management capabilities to plan, prioritize, and deliver initiatives on time and within scope.
- Hands-on experience in modern software development practices, frameworks, and tools used for scalable, distributed systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience designing and operating cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), with a focus on security, reliability, and performance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align engineering efforts to business goals.
- Background in hiring platforms, marketplaces, or large-scale web applications is an advantage.
