Founding AI Platform Engineer (LLM, RAG & Full Stack)
About the Role
We are looking for a highly capable Founding AI Platform Engineer who thrives in fast-moving startup environments and enjoys taking ownership of AI-powered products from prototype to production.
Our products are initially built using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and modern AI engineering workflows. Your primary responsibility will be to understand existing codebases, rapidly ship MVPs, improve architecture, and transform experimental products into stable, scalable production platforms.
This is not a maintenance role. We are looking for someone who can think like a product engineer, software architect, and AI engineer at the same time.
What You'll Do
- Understand and extend existing AI-generated codebases built using Claude Code and modern AI development workflows.
- Take ownership of products from prototype stage to production-ready MVP.
- Refactor and redesign system architecture for scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Build robust backend services and modern frontend applications.
- Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
- Integrate LLMs including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, and open-source models.
- Build AI agents, workflow automation, and prompt orchestration.
- Optimize database design, APIs, caching, and application performance.
- Deploy, monitor, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Set up CI/CD pipelines, Docker environments, logging, and monitoring.
- Improve code quality through testing, documentation, and engineering best practices.
- Work closely with founders to rapidly validate ideas and ship customer-facing features.
Required Skills
AI Engineering
- Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Experience building RAG applications
- Vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Chroma, pgvector, etc.)
- Embedding models
- Prompt engineering
- AI agent frameworks
- Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a plus
- Experience with Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, or similar AI coding tools

What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of software engineering experience.
- Experience building production-grade web applications.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to understand unfamiliar codebases quickly.
- Comfortable working with AI-generated code and improving its quality.
- Strong software architecture and system design knowledge.
- Ability to independently own features from idea to deployment.
- Startup mindset with a bias toward execution and ownership.
Nice to Have
- Experience with multi-agent AI systems.
- Knowledge of LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures.
- Experience building SaaS platforms.
- Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.
