About Huru
Huru is a UAE-based fintech company on a mission to make financial services simpler, more accessible, and more empowering for everyone. Licensed by the Central Bank of the UAE, we are building a modern financial platform designed for the way people live, work, save, spend, and send money today.
Our growing suite of services includes digital accounts, Visa cards, domestic and international money transfers, bill payments, savings solutions, and microfinance products—helping customers manage their financial lives with greater ease and confidence.
At Huru, we're not just building products; we're building a better financial future for our customers. We move fast, think big, and put our customers at the center of everything we do. If you're excited about solving meaningful problems in a high-growth fintech environment, we'd love to have you on board.
About the role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will own the design, automation, security, and reliability of Huru's cloud infrastructure—primarily hosted on AWS, with a growing footprint on Microsoft Azure.
You'll play a key role in defining how we build, deploy, and operate cloud infrastructure at scale by championing an Infrastructure-as-Code-first approach using Terraform. As a senior member of our Engineering team, you'll provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and help establish best practices that enable secure, scalable, and resilient platforms for a regulated fintech environment.
Working closely with Software Engineering, Security, Product, and Infrastructure teams, you'll help accelerate software delivery while ensuring our platforms remain reliable, compliant, and built for growth.
What will you do?
Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
- Design, implement, and evolve secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure across AWS (primary) and Microsoft Azure (secondary).
- Lead Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using Terraform by developing reusable, modular infrastructure across multiple environments.
- Build and maintain cloud networking, compute, storage, databases, Kubernetes clusters, and supporting platform services.
- Drive improvements around infrastructure scalability, resilience, performance, security, and cost optimisation.
- Design infrastructure capable of supporting multiple applications, services, and environments across regions.
CI/CD & Automation
- Architect and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bitbucket, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/AKS), REST APIs, and related tooling.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployments, configuration management, and operational workflows.
- Continuously improve deployment reliability, release velocity, and engineering productivity.
- Champion DevOps best practices and promote automation across the engineering organisation.
Infrastructure Security & Compliance
- Embed security-by-design principles across infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Implement least-privilege access controls, secrets management, network segmentation, encryption, and cloud security best practices.
- Ensure infrastructure complies with fintech security standards, governance policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Security and Compliance teams to continuously strengthen the platform's security posture.
Reliability, Monitoring & Incident Management
- Design and implement monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting across production systems.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews to improve platform stability.
- Improve platform reliability through autoscaling, performance tuning, capacity planning, and resilience engineering.
- Define and maintain disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, sharing knowledge and promoting engineering best practices.
- Review infrastructure designs, automation code, and technical implementations.
- Partner with development teams to improve developer experience and platform capabilities.
- Help establish engineering standards, documentation, and operational excellence across the organisation.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, DocumentDB, EKS, CloudFront, IAM, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, and related services.
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure services, including Virtual Networks, Virtual Machines, AKS, Storage, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Strong experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Bitbucket.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS and/or AKS), Linux administration, Python, Shell/Bash scripting, and Ansible.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, observability, disaster recovery, and infrastructure automation.
