Senior Software Engineer – Java, Python, AWS & IAM
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead with strong expertise across Java, Python, AWS and Identity & Access Management (IAM) to work on enterprise-grade, cloud-native applications and security solutions.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong experience in enterprise application development, microservices, APIs, cloud platforms, IAM/API security and production engineering.
What you'll be doing
- Design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Java and Python.
- Build and support cloud-native, microservices-based solutions on AWS.
- Develop backend services, integrations and REST/SOAP APIs.
- Design and implement IAM and API security solutions using technologies such as ForgeRock, Kong, SiteMinder and OIDC.
- Develop automation using Python and Shell scripting.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing and deployment.
- Apply secure engineering practices covering authentication, authorization, encryption and access control.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform performance tuning and root-cause analysis.
- Work across application, security, DevOps and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Participate in technical design, code reviews and engineering standards.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across development and production support.
- Create and maintain technical architecture/design documentation and diagrams.
Essential Experience
- 10+ years of enterprise software/application engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on Java development experience.
- Strong practical Python experience for backend development, automation or scripting.
- Strong hands-on AWS experience with cloud-native application development.
- Proven experience with IAM / Identity & Access Management and API security.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of:
- ForgeRock
- Kong
- SiteMinder
- OIDC
- Strong understanding of microservices, APIs and distributed application architecture.
- Experience with REST/SOAP web services and enterprise integrations.
- Strong Shell scripting and CI/CD experience.
- Experience working with production-critical applications, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
Good to have
- Capital Markets / Financial Services experience.
- Docker / Kubernetes.
- Terraform or other IaC technologies.
- Jenkins / GitLab CI/CD.
- Airflow / Autosys.
- DevOps / Agile delivery experience.
