Job Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and balance engaging in-game economies by creating healthy currency sources and sinks, progression systems, reward structures, and retention-focused gameplay mechanics.
- Build spreadsheet models and simulations to evaluate player progression, virtual currency flow, economy health, reward curves, monetization balance, and long-term player engagement.
- Collaborate with game designers, gameplay programmers, product managers, analytics teams, and engineers to translate economy models into production-ready gameplay systems.
- Analyze economy performance, identify balancing issues, monitor exploitation risks, and continuously refine progression pacing based on playtesting, analytics, and player behavior.
- Design progression systems, rewards, virtual currencies, resource management, and live-service events that encourage fair, rewarding, and sustainable gameplay experiences.
- Create clear economy design documentation, balancing specifications, implementation requirements, and tuning guidelines for cross-functional development teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 2–6 years of experience designing or balancing game economies, progression systems, monetization mechanics, live-service features, or gameplay systems.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with hands-on experience building Excel or spreadsheet-based economy models, simulations, balancing tools, and progression calculations.
- Solid understanding of virtual economies, player psychology, reward systems, retention mechanics, inflation control, currency balancing, and gameplay progression.
- Experience working on MMO, RPG, mobile games, live-service games, strategy games, or adjacent monetization-heavy gaming environments is highly preferred.
- Ability to identify economy exploits, reward inflation, farming behavior, pay-to-win risks, and balancing trade-offs using structured problem-solving approaches.
- Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making skills while working closely with designers, analysts, and engineering teams.
What We Offer

- Ownership of core gameplay progression, virtual economies, reward systems, monetization balancing, and player engagement mechanics from early development through launch.
- Collaboration with experienced game designers, gameplay engineers, analysts, artists, and production leaders within one of the world's leading entertainment technology companies.
- High-ownership environment where creativity, experimentation, analytical thinking, and continuous iteration drive the development of world-class gaming experiences.
