Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai for the Head Costing and Budgeting. The role is responsible for leading all project costing, budgeting, and financial planning activities across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Daily responsibilities include preparing detailed cost estimates, monitoring project budgets, tracking variances, and ensuring alignment with organizational financial targets. The Head Costing and Budgeting will collaborate closely with project, engineering, procurement, and finance teams to validate bills of quantities, analyze vendor quotes, optimize cost structures, and support contract negotiations. The role also involves setting up robust cost control frameworks, preparing periodic MIS and management reports, supporting audits, and providing strategic input on pricing, feasibility, and long-term financial planning.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in project costing, budgeting, and cost control for real estate or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and variance analysis, with the ability to interpret and present data to leadership.
- Hands-on experience with MS Excel and relevant costing, ERP, or project management software.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, contracting practices, and regulatory frameworks related to real estate.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and influence decision-making.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA, CA, Cost Accountant) is an advantage.
- Prior experience in a senior costing/budgeting role in the real estate sector, preferably in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and recommendations.
- High level of integrity, professional ethics, and commitment to transparent, compliant financial practices.
