Role Summary
The Software Development Engineer (Backend) at Superleap will build and scale the APIs, services, and backend systems that power our platform. Working closely with Product, Frontend, and AI teams, you will develop reliable, secure, and high-performance solutions, ensuring scalability, system efficiency, and seamless user experiences.
You will own backend features end-to-end and contribute to the architecture and technical foundation required to support rapid product growth.

Ideal candidate
- 2–5 years of backend development experience with Go, Java, Python, Node.js or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of APIs, databases, system design, and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Experience building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services.
- Proficiency with SQL/NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, and modern backend frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code.
- Startup-ready thrives in fast-paced environments with high ownership and accountability.
- Self-starter with a bias for action, continuous learning, and execution excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development
- Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs, services, and backend systems.
- Own backend features end-to-end from development to production deployment.
System Design & Architecture
- Contribute to the design of reliable, secure, and scalable system architectures.
- Develop solutions that support product growth, performance, and maintainability.
Database & Data Management
- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data pipelines.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and efficient system performance.
Performance & Reliability
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve application performance, availability, and scalability.
- Identify and resolve production issues to ensure system stability.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Frontend, Product, AI, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-facing features.
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and sprint planning.
Code Quality & Engineering Excellence
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
- Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and engineering standards.
Infrastructure & Process Improvement
- Support CI/CD, deployment processes, observability, and backend tooling.
- Drive improvements in developer productivity, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
