Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad for a Software Engineering Manager. The role involves leading and mentoring software engineering teams, setting technical direction, and overseeing end-to-end software development activities. The Software Engineering Manager will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, architect solutions, and ensure high-quality, scalable software designs. Daily responsibilities include planning and tracking projects, managing risks and dependencies, reviewing code and design documents, and promoting best practices in distributed systems and software engineering. The role also includes fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture, supporting career development, and ensuring alignment with Medtronic’s quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 19+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership responsibility for teams delivering desktop, connected, medical device, or healthcare software products.
- Strong knowledge of desktop application architecture, design patterns, and technologies such as WPF, WinForms, WinUI, C#, .NET, C++, or similar frameworks.
- Experience delivering software that interfaces with medical devices, monitoring systems, or other connected hardware\software platforms.
- Demonstrated experience driving engineering excellence through Agile methodologies, CI/CD, DevOps practices, automation, and quality-focused development processes.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, automotive, aerospace, or industrial automation, with knowledge of applicable quality and compliance frameworks.
