About Wheels On Lease
Wheels On Lease Pvt. Ltd. is building a technology-driven self-drive vehicle leasing marketplace connecting Lessees and Lessors through a web and mobile platform.
We are looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer who can take ownership of our production infrastructure, automate deployment processes, improve reliability and help us build a secure and scalable AWS environment.
This is a hands-on ownership role. The candidate should be capable of independently managing production infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, implementing CI/CD and working closely with the development team.
Role Overview
As an AWS DevOps Engineer, you will bridge the gap between development and operations by building reliable deployment pipelines, automating infrastructure, improving monitoring and ensuring our production environment remains secure, stable and scalable.
You will work closely with our development team to take applications from development to staging and ultimately to AWS production.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage Wheels On Lease's AWS production environments.
- Design, configure, and maintain reliable AWS infrastructure.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Automate infrastructure and operational processes wherever possible.
- Manage application deployments, releases, rollbacks, and production updates.
- Monitor infrastructure and application health.
- Troubleshoot production incidents and performance issues.
- Implement appropriate logging, monitoring, alerting, and backup strategies.
- Manage AWS IAM roles, policies, users, and permissions securely.
- Manage application secrets and environment variables securely.
- Work with developers to optimize applications for production.
- Implement infrastructure security and best practices.
- Monitor and optimize AWS infrastructure costs.
- Maintain technical documentation for infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Help establish proper Dev → Staging → Production workflows.
- Ensure production systems are scalable and capable of handling future growth.
AWS Mandatory Skill
Strong practical experience with AWS is required.
The candidate should have hands-on experience with services and concepts such as:
- EC2
- ECS / Fargate
- S3
- IAM
- Secrets Manager
- CloudWatch
- RDS
- CloudFront
- VPC and networking fundamentals
- Load Balancing
- Auto Scaling
- AWS security practices
- Backup and disaster recovery
- Production monitoring and troubleshooting
Experience with Docker and containerized applications is highly preferred.
DevOps & Automation — Mandatory
The candidate should have practical experience with:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Git / GitHub
- GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools
- Docker
- Automated deployments
- Environment management
- Infrastructure monitoring

- Deployment rollback strategies
- Production incident management
Experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code will be an advantage.
AWS Certification — Required
The candidate must hold a valid AWS Certification to demonstrate verified AWS Cloud skills.

Candidates may be required to provide their AWS Certification details for verification.
AWS Certification + real-world AWS production experience are both mandatory.
Development Environment
Our application ecosystem includes technologies such as:

The candidate should be comfortable understanding how these applications are deployed, connected, monitored and maintained in production.
Required Experience
- 3 to 5 years of professional DevOps / Cloud / AWS experience.
- Strong hands-on AWS production experience.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Docker/containerized applications.
- Strong Linux fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of networking and cloud security.
- Experience troubleshooting production environments.
- Experience working closely with software development teams.

Contract & Evaluation Period
This position will initially be offered as a 3-month contract.
The purpose of the contract is to evaluate the candidate's practical ability to manage and improve the Wheels On Lease production environment.
Performance will be evaluated based on:

Continuation After 3 Months
Candidates who demonstrate exceptional technical performance and ownership may be offered continued/full-time engagement after the initial 3-month contract.
Continuation will depend on performance, contribution, and company requirements.
Work From Home
This is a 100% Work From Home position.
The candidate must have:

- Ability to respond appropriately to production issues when required
Compensation
₹29,000 per month
The compensation is fixed for the initial 3-month contract period.
Future compensation or continued engagement will be evaluated based on practical performance and contribution.
