Role Description The Seed Product Development Manager – North is a full-time, on-site role based in Lucknow, responsible for managing seed product development activities across the northern region. The role involves identifying market needs, defining product requirements, and coordinating trials for new seed varieties in collaboration with agronomy teams, field staff, and research partners. The manager will plan and monitor field demonstrations, collect and analyze performance data, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for portfolio improvements. Day-to-day responsibilities include engaging with farmers and channel partners to gather feedback, supporting marketing and sales teams with technical product information, and ensuring compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory guidelines. The role also requires preparing reports, maintaining documentation, and contributing to long-term product development strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of seed technology, crop science, and product development processes, preferably within field crops and horticulture.
- Experience in conducting field trials, data collection, and performance analysis for seed varieties, with the ability to generate practical insights.
- Skills in stakeholder engagement, including working with farmers, dealer networks, research institutions, and internal cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in planning, organizing, and monitoring multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to timelines and quality standards.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports and present findings clearly.
- Comfort with using digital tools for data management, reporting, and collaboration; familiarity with agricultural data platforms is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Seed Science, Plant Breeding, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in seed industry product management or field development roles; experience in North India agro-climatic conditions is a plus.
- Ability to travel within the region as required for field visits, trials, and partner meetings.
