Job details:
What we're building
Drishti AI builds AI-powered monitoring systems for heavy industrial manufacturing environments. Our existing products track machine utilisation, worker safety, and site security using computer vision deployed at the edge.
The next phase is predictive maintenance — instrumenting heavy industrial machinery so precisely that we can anticipate failures before they happen. This role exists to make that a reality.
Before you apply, read this
This role is based in a small industrial town in Rajasthan — not a metro. You'll need to relocate. The upside: cost of living is extremely low, and a good flat runs a fraction of what you'd pay in any major city. Most people who move here save more than they did earning higher salaries elsewhere. We're being upfront about this because it's a real lifestyle change, and we'd rather you know before applying than after.
What the role involves
The first month is research — understanding the machinery, the failure modes, and the operational environment up close. You'll spend time on the factory floor talking to the people who run these machines every day. That knowledge becomes the foundation for everything you build.
From there: selecting and deploying the right sensors (MEMS accelerometers, strain gauges, RTDs, current sensors), building time-series data acquisition pipelines at the edge (ESP32/Raspberry Pi, ADC sampling, FFT-based vibration analysis), and shipping structured telemetry (MQTT/HTTP) into our FastAPI backend alongside existing vision data. You own the stack from transducer to database.
What we're looking for
- Hands-on experience with industrial sensors — vibration, temperature, strain, current, or similar
- Comfortable with edge hardware and microcontrollers (ESP32, Raspberry Pi, or equivalent), including their real-world limitations (ADC noise, clock drift, power management)
- Can build the firmware and the data pipeline, not just specify the hardware — signal conditioning, sampling strategy, edge feature extraction (RMS, FFT bins), buffering and network-failure handling
- Working knowledge of Python; we use it across the stack
- Genuine curiosity about how machines work and fail
- Hindi is a strong advantage for day-to-day communication on-site
What to expect
This is early-stage. There's no corporate structure, no micromanagement, and real ownership from day one. You'll work directly with the founder and see the impact of your work immediately. The scope here would take years to get at a larger company.
How to apply
Send your background to rahul@getdrishtiai.com. Instead of a formal cover letter, tell us about the most unconventional environment you've ever deployed something in.
