We build and maintain a portfolio of fitness, education, and nutrition apps for some of the world's biggest creators. Many of our products have been featured as App of the Day and highlighted by Apple Editorial, giving you the chance to see your code powering apps used on a global stage.
With an average of four new mobile apps launched each year and a large, active portfolio to maintain, the work is fast-paced and varied. You'll get to build new features, but a large part of this role is keeping our existing apps running at their best, reducing bug backlogs, and directly improving product quality and user sentiment across multiple brands.
THE ROLE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing & Maintaining Apps
- Developing and maintaining new & existing web/mobile applications for Genflow creator clients, across iOS, Android and Web
- Evaluating existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
- Understanding client requirements and how they translate into application features
Bug Fixing & Product Quality
- Taking a lead role in bug fixing across our portfolio of apps, working across multiple brands and codebases at the same time
- Investigating and deeply diagnosing the root cause of reported bugs, not just the symptoms, before moving to a fix
- Working at pace to resolve issues wherever the bug lives, prioritising based on severity and user impact, and contributing to reducing our overall bug backlog
Using AI Tools
- Using tools such as Cursor and Claude Code to increase productivity and reduce time to fix common issues and bugs across multiple codebases
Tech Team Collaboration
- Working closely with the Tech Delivery Manager and Product Manager to ensure the prioritisation and status of work is clear at all times
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborating with other relevant internal departments including our data team, customer support and product managers to ensure the smooth running and delivery of all mobile app projects
Writing Code
- Writing or amending code using programming languages including JavaScript/TypeScript w/ React Native framework
Project Management
- Utilising internal project management software to ensure your day to day work is tracked through Linear
Testing and Debugging
- Testing software via our review process before delivering the final product to the team, always ensuring you're confident with the product you have developed, minimising faults, and fixing problems before delivering
Problem Solving
- Proactively reviewing and solving problems within the mobile apps
Optimising Apps
- Optimising apps for performance, usability, and security
Staying Current
- Keeping up to date with new mobile development technologies and trends
IDEAL SKILLS + EXPERIENCE
- Proven multiple years experience as a mobile application developer
- A strong investigative mindset, enjoys digging into root cause rather than just patching symptoms
- Comfortable working across multiple codebases and switching context between brands quickly without losing accuracy
- Confident using AI coding tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code) to speed up diagnosis and fixes, particularly across unfamiliar or multiple codebases
- Confident in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Deep understanding of core programming principles, including design
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Proficiency with project tracking software: Linear
- Experience working as part of a development team
