Job details:
We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Senior Fashion Designer (2–3 years of experience) who understands both garment design and technical fitting.
While you will occasionally help with drawing sketches and planning new seasonal collections, your main daily priority will be meeting clients, taking exact body measurements, preparing error-free measurement sheets (tech sheets), and guiding our tailors to make sure every order fits perfectly.
If you have a sharp eye for fitting, good technical knowledge of how ethnic garments are stitched, and enjoy working directly with clients, we would love to have you on our team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Meetings & Measurements (Main Priority)
Take accurate body measurements for clients (in-person and online) for custom lehengas and padded blouses.
Pay special attention to tricky fitting areas—like armhole depth, bicep and elbow size, bust points, and shoulder slopes—so the first fitting trial goes smoothly without major alterations.
Help clients choose necklines, patterns, and embroidery placements while setting clear expectations on how the finished outfit will look and fit.
2. Technical Sheets & Tailor Briefing (Main Priority)
Turn client requests into clear, detailed Technical Measurement Sheets (Tech Packs), including exact body measurements, stitch margins, fabric details, and embroidery placement notes.
Explain design details and measurements directly to master tailors before cutting and stitching start.
Identify and fix fitting problems (such as armhole tightness, shoulder slipping, or bicep pulling) during client trials and give clear correction instructions to the tailors.
3. Sketches & Collection Design (As Needed)
Draw sketches and illustrations for new collection launches when needed.
Create quick hand or digital sketches for clients who want unique, customized designs.
4. Tailor Coordination
Act as the main technical contact for our outside tailoring units to clear up any doubts about stitching, margins, or embroidery placement.
Requirements & Candidate Profile
Education: Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design from a recognized institute (NIFT, Pearl Academy, or similar).
Experience: 2 to 3 years of working experience in a women's ethnic wear boutique or design store.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of pattern making, garment construction, and creating measurement sheets for lehengas, blouses, and ethnic wear.
Drawing Skills: Good hand or digital sketching skills to explain designs.
Communication: Polite, clear, and professional communication skills for handling clients.
Joining: Immediate joiners preferred.
