Senior Browser Rendering Engineer
C++ | Skia | WebKit | Linux Graphics
Location: India initially, with an expected move to Dubai after funding
We are building an ambitious browser infrastructure product designed to challenge the way large technology platforms control access, collaboration and execution across the web.
We are looking for a deeply hands-on browser rendering engineer who wants to solve difficult infrastructure problems, take meaningful ownership and help build a category-defining company from an early stage.
This is not a standard employment opportunity with a large salary from day one. It is an equity-led founding engineering team ole for someone who believes they can create significant technical and commercial value and wants meaningful participation in the upside.
The Role
We have an existing browser-rendering implementation that reproduces the visual output of a remotely running browser in a separate viewer.
The system is functional, but it does not yet deliver consistent 1-to-1 fidelity across complex websites and applications.
You will inspect the existing implementation, identify where rendering state is being lost or reconstructed incorrectly, and directly fix the rendering pipeline.
This is not a general frontend, backend, browser-automation or WebRTC role. It requires experience with browser-engine internals, compositor pipelines and Skia-based rendering.
What You Will Work On
- Review and debug an existing C++ browser-rendering integration.
- Trace visual differences across the browser compositor, transport and external renderer.
- Fix incorrect layer positioning, scaling, clipping, opacity, transforms and lifecycle handling.
- Resolve coordinate-space and device-pixel-ratio mismatches.
- Improve handling of scrolling, menus, popovers, fixed elements, nested surfaces and animations.
- Handle browser content that is not represented through ordinary Skia paint operations.
- Improve synchronization between visual updates and completed frames.
- Eliminate blank surfaces, stale layers, missing content and rendering artefacts.
- Test against complex real-world applications rather than controlled demonstration pages.
- Produce working source-code improvements, not merely architecture recommendations.
- Document the implemented fixes, build process and known limitations.
Required Experience (C++,SKIA,WEBKIT/Chromium)
You must have substantial hands-on experience with:
- Modern C++
- Skia and SkPicture
- WebKit, WPE WebKit, Chromium or another browser-engine codebase
- Browser compositing and layer trees
- GPU-backed rendering pipelines
- Linux graphics systems
- WebGL, OpenGL or related graphics APIs
- Debugging multi-process browser architectures
- Building and modifying large C++ projects from source
Experience limited to WebView integration, browser automation, Selenium, Playwright or frontend canvas development is not sufficient.
Shortlisting Advantage but not essential
Candidates with experience in any of the following will receive additional consideration:
- Top Tier Educational institutions who have been a part of funded startups preferred
- 10+ years of experience
- Experience with Global SAAS tools , and worked in global environments
- KasmVNC, noVNC, TigerVNC or similar remote-display systems
- Firefox internals or customized Firefox builds
- X11, Wayland, Weston or virtual-display environments
- VNC framebuffer pipelines
- Remote browser isolation
- Browser streaming or virtual workspace infrastructure
- FFmpeg, GStreamer or WebRTC media pipelines
- GPU acceleration, EGL, DMA-BUF, texture sharing or GPU readback
- CanvasKit or WebAssembly-based rendering
- Input synchronization and remote mouse or keyboard handling
- Performance optimization for remote graphical applications
The primary challenge is browser rendering through Skia and browser compositor internals. Remote-display and KasmVNC experience is not mandatory, but it could materially increase your chances of being shortlisted because the role may later expand into a second browser-streaming workstream.
What Success Looks Like
You should be able to:
- Understand an unfamiliar graphics and browser-rendering pipeline directly from source code.
- Build and modify the browser engine yourself.
- Identify why an external representation differs from the browser’s native rendering.
- Debug across C++, graphics APIs, browser processes and the external renderer.
- Produce measurable visual and performance improvements.
- Take ownership of difficult problems with limited supervision.
- Work as an early technical leader rather than as a task-based contractor.
Compensation and Location
The role will initially be based in India. Following institutional funding, the intention is to build the core team in Dubai, and the selected engineer should be open to relocating.
We are looking for someone motivated by ownership, technical ambition and the opportunity to build infrastructure capable of competing with much larger technology companies.

- A description of work you personally completed inside Skia, WebKit, Chromium, Firefox or another browser-rendering engine.
- Links to relevant code, commits, patches or technically comparable projects where available.
- A description of a difficult browser-rendering or graphics problem you personally debugged.
- Whether you have worked with KasmVNC, VNC, remote browser isolation, X11, Wayland or browser-streaming infrastructure.
- Your current location and willingness to relocate to Dubai after funding.
- Your comfort with an equity-first compensation structure.
- An answer to the following question:
Why is replaying SkPicture data alone insufficient to reproduce the complete visual output of a modern browser?

We are looking for someone who can build, inspect, debug and modify the system directly. This is not a role for high-level consulting, team delegation or AI-generated technical responses.
