Role: Principal Program Manager – JAMS (JioStar AI Media Studio)
Role Summary
The Principal Program Manager is the operational engine of the JioStar AI Media Studio (JAMS), responsible for orchestrating the end-to-end production lifecycle of AI-native content. This role coordinates across multiple functions (creative technologists, executive producers and JAMS Product and engineering), ensuring that innovative AI productions are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will own the E2E project plan, working with a cross functional team, ensuring seamless execution in a rapidly evolving, "AI-native" production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Lifecycle Orchestration:
○ Own the end-to-end execution of microdrama and short-form content production, from concept and screenplay development through to production, post-production, and live distribution.
○ Partner with Creative Technologists and POD leaders to defi ne and maintain rigorous project plans and milestones, enabling PODs to deliver full show episodes within agreed upon production timelines.
○ Ensure feature development from the Platform Engineering team aligns with the immediate needs of active productions.
- Cross-Functional Integration:
○ Drive collaboration between Creative Technologists, Narrative and Visual Storytelling Leads, Producers (Ambuj, Hima), and Engineering/Data Science teams.
○ Facilitate the integration of external vendor engagements (e.g., Worldframe, Soundverse) into the internal JAMS pipeline, ensuring POCs are pressure-tested and aligned with business priorities.
○ Manage the transition from prototyping to "production-grade" capability, ensuring that capabilities developed by Engineering are "dogfooded" by the production teams and meet quality standards before reaching full-scale implementation.
- Operational Excellence & Governance:
○ Craft and Operate an AI Content Generation Lifecycle(AGLC) with clear milestones to track execution from Concept to final publication.
○ Anticipate risks to program execution work with various cross functional teams to identify PTG options.
○ Conduct Program Retros, Enforce quality-first mindset, capture key learnings from past AI content productions to improve the ACGL.
Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in large-scale production management, preferably in film, TV, or high-tech digital media environments.
- AI/Tech Fluency: Deep understanding of the generative AI landscape. Must be comfortable discussing workflows involving LLMs, Agentic Architectures, ComfyUI, and multimodal video generation tools.
- Operational Agility: Proven track record of managing complex, iterative projects where "failures" are part of the process. Ability to pivot quickly as generative models evolve.
- Strategic Communication: Ability to serve as a force multiplier for creative teams, balancing the "art" of filmmaking with the "science" of platform engineering.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Production, Engineering, or a related fi eld; familiarity with top-tier film, VFX, or animation school workflows is a significant advantage.
Our "Ways of Working"
As a JAMS team member, you will operate within a "POD" structure, fostering a culture of ownership and outcome-oriented delivery. We value speed and velocity in early prototyping, but demand architectural robustness and cost-efficiency for core platforms. If our internal teams won't use it, it isn't ready—we are our own first customer.
