About The Role
The R75906 Senior Manager, Digital Commerce (Technical Product Owner) is a pivotal role within Lonza's Bioscience division, focusing exclusively on digital commerce platforms and enterprise integrations. This position is responsible for defining and executing the technical product strategy related to the digital commerce ecosystem, with particular emphasis on B2B integrations such as PunchOut and EDI. The role involves translating complex business and operational requirements into scalable, high-quality technical solutions, ensuring seamless integration with systems like SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris), ERP, and middleware platforms. Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, the Senior Manager will oversee the entire lifecycle of digital commerce products, from roadmap development to delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational needs. This role demands a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in enterprise integrations, agile methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration, all within a regulated industry environment.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a combination of technical expertise, industry experience, and leadership skills. Essential qualifications include proven experience as a Technical Product Owner or Senior Product Manager managing enterprise platforms, particularly in life sciences or regulated industries. Candidates should have hands-on experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris), B2B integrations like PunchOut and EDI, and familiarity with ERP and middleware platforms such as SAP CPI or Mulesoft. Strong understanding of end-to-end commerce flows, system-to-system integrations, and translating business needs into technical requirements is critical. Certifications in Agile methodologies or Product Ownership are highly desirable. Additionally, experience overseeing business analysis activities, managing product roadmaps, and working closely with cross-functional teams will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Manager, Digital Commerce, your core responsibilities will include:
- Owning and maintaining the digital commerce product and integration roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic business priorities, customer needs, and technical dependencies across PunchOut, EDI, ERP, and other commerce platforms.
- Continuously refining the product backlog based on stakeholder feedback, delivery learnings, and technical complexity, making informed trade-offs to maximize value.
- Acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders—such as Sales, Customer Service, and Commercial Operations—and technical teams, facilitating clear communication and shared understanding.
- Translating operational workflows and business objectives into detailed, actionable requirements and user stories that are feasible for technical teams to implement.
- Leading cross-functional planning and execution of PunchOut and EDI initiatives, coordinating efforts across internal teams and external partners to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders, managing expectations proactively.
- Managing Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, and retrospectives, supporting release planning and deployment readiness.
- Overseeing business analysis activities, ensuring requirements are complete, testable, and aligned with technical feasibility, and providing final approval on scope and prioritization.
