Job details:
Company Description Clarity Tax Technologies is focused on shaping the future of tax by transforming how tax professionals and organizations work. The company leverages technology to modernize tax workflows, improve accuracy, and streamline complex processes. Team members collaborate to build intuitive solutions that reduce manual effort and enhance compliance. Joining Clarity Tax Technologies means contributing to impactful products that help redefine tax operations for a digital-first world.
Role Description You'll be an early product hire with real ownership of the roadmap for a platform built around one of the most consequential numbers in a public company's financial statements: the income tax provision.
Corporate income tax reporting is a domain where the requirements live in dense authoritative guidance — ASC 740, SEC rules, Pillar 2 & CAMT — and the users are deep expert. Your job is to be the translation layer between tax professionals, our engineering team, and enterprise buyers, and to ship software those experts trust with numbers that land in a 10-K, get signed off by external auditors, and sit under SOX controls.
The ability to ship fast is key here.
What you'll do
- Lead discovery with enterprise tax teams: sit with VPs of Tax, provision managers, and their advisors through close cycles and audits, and convert what you learn into sharp problem definitions and specs.
- Own and prioritize the roadmap across the platform's layers — knowledge graph, workflow automation, reporting, and ecosystem integrations — and make deliberate trade-offs between depth and breadth.
- Partner with tax subject-matter experts to encode domain logic into the product, and with engineers to shape how the knowledge graph and AI capabilities are exposed to users.
- Set the bar for AI in a high-stakes domain: define accuracy, explainability, and auditability requirements for automated calculations, and build the evaluation loops that keep a provision a tax director will defend to their auditors trustworthy.
- Drive enterprise readiness: roles and permissions, immutable audit trails, SOX-aligned controls, security review support, implementation playbooks, and integration requirements for ERP general ledgers and income tax provision systems.
- Define and track product metrics — automation coverage across the provision, time saved per close cycle, reconciliation-to-tie speed, and adoption within tax teams — and run structured beta programs with public-company design partners.
- Go-to-market: sharpen positioning against the incumbent provision stack, build demo narratives that resonate with a tax audience, assist sales on technical evaluations, and feed customer signal into pricing and packaging.
What we're looking for
- 7–12 years of product management experience in B2B enterprise SaaS, including at least one product taken from ambiguous 0→1 to paying customers.
- Experience in a compliance-heavy or finance-adjacent domain (tax technology, accounting, etc) — or clear evidence you can master a dense, regulated domain quickly.
- Experience in a compliance-heavy or finance-adjacent domain — tax technology, corporate accounting, financial reporting, or audit — or clear evidence you can master a dense, regulated domain quickly.
- Technical fluency: comfortable discussing APIs, data models and ontologies, and enterprise integrations with engineers, without needing to write the code yourself.
- Hands-on experience shipping AI/LLM-powered features, including how you evaluated accuracy and designed guardrails.
- Exceptional written communication — your specs, PRDs, and release notes will be read by tax directors, auditors, and engineers alike.
- A strong discovery habit with hard-to-reach enterprise users, and comfort operating with high ownership and limited structure.
Nice to have
- CPA/CA background, Big 4 tax experience, or direct exposure to corporate tax provision and compliance work.
- Hands-on familiarity with the income tax provision and reporting cycle — the quarterly-to-annual close, return-to-provision, and the tax footnote that flows into SEC filings.
- Familiarity with ONESOURCE, Corptax, Longview, or ERP tax modules.
- Experience with knowledge graphs, semantic data products, or rules engines.
