About the Role
The Forward Deployed Solutions Lead is the face of the company for the client. From the moment a project is handed over by the Business Development team, this person owns the engagement end-to end ie understanding the client's problems, conceptualising solutions, aligning stakeholders, coordinating internal delivery, and ensuring the solution is delivered on time and to a high standard.
This role sits at the intersection of client relationship management, solution design, project delivery, and hands-on execution. Our work is focused on digital and AI transformation for the social impact sector ie building bespoke software and applications from scratch, configuring existing platforms, and setting up AI-native workflows (for example, designing skills and agents on Claude, Claude Code, and Claude co-work environments) to meet client needs.
If you enjoy owning outcomes, working closely with clients, translating messy real-world problems into clean solutions, and operating in the intersection of technology and social impact, this role is built for you.
What You Will Own
Client ownership & relationship
- Serve as the primary point of contact and the face of the company for the client throughout the engagement.
- Take a clean handover from the Business Development team and immediately establish credibility and rapport with client stakeholders.
- Manage client expectations, communication cadence, escalations, and satisfaction across the lifecycle of the project.
Problem discovery & solution design
- Engage deeply with the client to understand and document the problems they are facing through interviews, workshops, on-site visits, and desk research.
- Produce clear, well-structured problem statements and align all internal and client stakeholders on a shared understanding.
- Conceptualise and design solutions (technical, process-based, or a combination) and document them in a way that is unambiguous to both the client and the delivery team.
- Drive stakeholder alignment on the proposed solution before build begins.
Delivery coordination & hands-on execution
- Coordinate with internal development, design, and AI teams. Brief them thoroughly on the solution, clarify requirements, and support them wherever needed to unblock progress.
- Where the solution is small or well-suited to no-code / AI-native tooling, build it yourself (for example, configuring Claude skills, setting up agents, assembling Claude Code workflows, or standing up light integrations).
- Own the end-to-end delivery timeline. Track progress, anticipate risks, resolve issues, and ensure the client receives what was promised, when it was promised.
Client enablement
- Build user manuals, training material, and onboarding documentation for every solution delivered.
- Conduct training sessions for client teams — both remote and in-person — to ensure adoption of what has been built.
Who You Are
Sector understanding
- You have a deep understanding of the social impact sector — CSR, corporate foundations, philanthropic foundations, Indian and international NGOs, multilaterals, and government. You understand how these organisations think, buy, and make decisions.
- You understand the fundamentals of social impact research and evaluation — needs assessment, baseline / midline / endline studies, impact assessment, SROI, and similar methods — well enough to design solutions that fit how our clients actually work.
Client craft
- You have prior experience working directly with clients in a delivery, consulting, or program management capacity. You know that this role sits at the intersection of many skills — client management, solutioning, delivery, and light building — and you are comfortable operating in that space.
- Your written and verbal communication is exceptional. You can write a crisp problem statement, present a solution to a room of senior stakeholders, and hold a difficult conversation about a slipping timeline — all with equal ease.
AI fluency
- You have personally adopted AI in the way you work and think. You are fluent in extracting real value from AI tools — not just using them, but using them well.
- You can independently build small solutions using AI-native tooling (Claude, Claude Code, Claude co-work, agent frameworks, and similar).
Delivery mindset
- You take end-to-end ownership. When something goes wrong, you do not wait to be asked — you move.
- You are comfortable under pressure. Tight timelines, demanding clients, and shifting priorities do not throw you off.
- You work effectively in a remote-first setup, and you know how to keep momentum without an office to lean on.
Logistics
- You are based in, or willing to relocate to, Mumbai or Delhi.
- You are willing to travel to client locations as the engagement requires.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience delivering technology, digital, or AI projects — either at a consulting firm, a services company, a technology company, or in-house at a social impact organisation.
- Hands-on familiarity with modern software development workflows, even if you are not a full-time engineer.
- Existing network within the CSR, foundation, or development sector in India.
Why This Role
You will be the person clients trust to solve their hardest problems. You will work at the leading edge of AI applied to the social impact sector, with real stakes and real outcomes. You will have the autonomy of an owner and the support of a team that takes delivery seriously.
If this sounds like you, we would like to hear from you.
