Role Description The DFx Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South, responsible for driving Design for Excellence (DFx) practices across product development. This role leads cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure products are optimized for manufacturability, testability, reliability, cost, and serviceability. The DFx Lead analyzes designs, identifies risks and improvement opportunities, and defines guidelines and checklists to enhance product robustness and lifecycle performance. Daily activities include reviewing design documents and prototypes, conducting DFx assessments and design reviews, preparing reports and recommendations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves mentoring team members on DFx best practices and aligning DFx activities with customer requirements and organizational standards.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in DFx domains (Design for Manufacturability, Design for Testability, Design for Reliability, Design for Cost, Design for Serviceability) and experience applying these principles in product development.
- Solid background in engineering (e.g., electronics, mechanical, embedded systems) with hands-on experience in product design, validation, and industrialization.
- Proficiency in design analysis tools and methods, including tolerance analysis, FMEA, root cause analysis, and reliability modeling.
- Experience collaborating with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve design issues, optimize production processes, and improve yield and quality.
- Ability to lead technical reviews, prepare clear DFx guidelines and documentation, and present recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary, multicultural teams and coordinate across global locations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field; DFx, DFM/DFT, or quality-related certifications are an advantage.
