We are looking for an Embedded Linux Engineer (2–4 years) to join our engineering team. The role involves developing and maintaining Embedded Linux software for industrial and connected products. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Embedded Linux application development, Linux BSP customization, Yocto, device driver development, and ARM based embedded systems. The engineer will work closely with hardware, firmware, cloud, and QA teams to develop production-ready products and support system integration activities. We are looking for a motivated engineer who is eager to learn, has strong debugging skills, and is passionate about embedded product development.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain Embedded Linux applications using C/C++.
• Customize Linux BSPs, kernel configurations, and Device Trees.
• Develop and debug Linux device drivers for GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, CAN, and other peripherals. • Support board bring-up and hardware/software integration activities.
• Configure and customize Yocto/OpenEmbedded build systems.
• Develop middleware and system services for embedded platforms.
• Debug kernel issues, boot failures, memory leaks, and driver-related problems.
• Integrate networking protocols such as TCP/IP, MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, and SSH.
• Support OTA update implementation and Linux security features.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, cloud, mobile, and QA teams throughout product development.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile development activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and software release documentation.
• Support product validation, manufacturing, and production releases.
Required Skills
• 2–4 years of experience in Embedded Linux software development.
• Strong programming skills in Embedded C and C++.
• Good knowledge of Linux Kernel, Linux architecture, and system programming.
• Hands-on experience with Yocto Project, BitBake, and OpenEmbedded.
• Experience in Linux BSP customization and board bring-up.
• Experience developing Linux device drivers for SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, USB, Ethernet, CAN, PWM, or ADC.
• Good understanding of Linux boot process, Device Tree, and U-Boot.
• Experience working with ARM Cortex-A processors such as NXP i.MX, STM32MP1, TI Sitara, or Renesas RZ.
• Knowledge of Linux networking protocols (TCP/IP, MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH).
• Experience using Git and Linux development tools.
• Familiarity with GDB, JTAG, and Linux debugging utilities such as strace, dmesg, and perf.
• Basic understanding of NOR Flash, NAND Flash, eMMC, and Linux file systems.
• Good understanding of embedded hardware interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, CAN).
• Exposure to Docker, Jenkins, AWS IoT, Azure IoT, or CI/CD pipelines will be an added advantage.
• Good communication skills, analytical thinking, and willingness to learn new technologies.
