WHAT WILL YOU DO AT WHOLSUM FOODS?
The HR Business Partner will support the people agenda of a fast-growing D2C food startup by partnering with business leaders on workforce needs, enabling effective execution of people processes, and strengthening organizational capability in line with business goals. HR Business Partners work closely with managers and key stakeholders to align people team priorities with commercial and operational requirements.
- Role 1: HR Business Partner – Talent Acquisition
- Role 2: HR Business Partner – Talent Management
Both roles will support business partnering and recruitment for assigned functions, while each role will carry a distinct area of specialization. Talent Acquisition is centered on sourcing, assessing, hiring, and onboarding talent, while Talent Management focuses on performance, engagement,development, and workforce effectiveness.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 6 months to 3 years of relevant experience in human resources, recruitment, talent acquisition, talent management, HR operations, or business partnering support.
- Prior exposure to startup, D2C, food, FMCG, retail, or other high-growth business environments will be preferred.
JOB PURPOSE
To partner with business teams in delivering people priorities through effective hiring support, employee lifecycle management, and execution of HR processes with strong business acumen and execution excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with business leaders and hiring managers to understand organization structure, manpower requirements, workforce challenges, and team priorities.
- Support recruitment for assigned functions, including role briefing, candidate coordination, interview scheduling, offer follow-up, and onboarding support.
- Act as a business-facing HR partner for assigned teams on employee lifecycle processes, policy implementation, employee queries, and manager coordination.
- Ensure high standards of responsiveness, documentation quality, process discipline, and execution excellence across day-to-day HR activities.
- Maintain effective stakeholder relationships and contribute to a professional, compliant, and business-aligned HR environment.
Role 1: HR Business Partner & Talent Acquisition
To drive hiring outcomes for assigned functions while providing HR business partnering support to business teams, ensuring timely recruitment, strong candidate experience, and disciplined execution of onboarding and employee lifecycle processes. Talent Acquisition roles focus on building talent pipelines, managing the end-to-end hiring process, and aligning recruitment delivery with current and future business needs.
Key Deliverables:-
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for assigned positions from requisition intake to joining closure.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and anticipated hiring requirements.
- Support sourcing, screening, interview management, offer processing, and onboarding transition.
- Partner with managers on hiring plans, role calibration, candidate quality, and recruitment progress reviews.
- Provide HRBP support on onboarding, employee connect, policy interpretation, and early employee lifecycle matters for assigned teams.
Skills Required
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand workforce needs in a scaling business environment.
- Strong execution excellence, ownership, urgency, and follow-through.
- Good understanding of recruitment processes, sourcing channels, candidate management, and hiring coordination.
- Ability to engage effectively with managers, candidates, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
Role 2: HR Business Partner & Talent Management
To support talent management priorities for assigned business teams through effective execution of performance processes, employee engagement initiatives, development planning, and HR business partnering support, while also contributing to recruitment delivery for assigned functions. HRBP-led talent management typically includes performance management, manager enablement, employee development, and workforce effectiveness.
Key Deliverables:
- Support execution of performance management processes, including goal setting, review coordination, documentation, and follow-up actions.
- Drive talent management interventions such as employee engagement inputs, development planning support, and talent review coordination.
- Partner with managers on people issues, employee experience, and implementation of core HR processes for assigned teams.
- Support onboarding effectiveness, employee connect mechanisms, and retention-related follow-up.
- Contribute to recruitment delivery for assigned business functions as part of the common hiring charter.
Skills Required
- Strong business acumen and ability to align people priorities with business goals.
- Good understanding of performance management, employee engagement, development planning, and talent processes.
- Strong execution discipline, stakeholder coordination, and follow-through.
- Good interpersonal sensitivity and maturity in handling employee-facing matters.
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources is preferred.
- Candidates with a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Commerce, or a related discipline may also be considered.
COMPENSATION
- Gross CTC – 10-12 LPA
- Variable Pay – 10% of Gross CTC for on target performance
