Advanced Specialist, Product Management – ELL Platforms Pearson | English Language Learning | Bengaluru,
India Job Tier: IC25 | Role Type: Individual Contributor |
Reports To: Team Manager, Platform Product (ELL)
About the Role
We are hiring an Advanced Specialist in Product Management to join the Platforms team within Pearson's English Language Learning (ELL) division. In this role, you will take senior individual-contributor ownership of significant product areas within our learning management system (LMS), which serves institutional and corporate customers worldwide.
Working closely with engineering, design, and customer success, you will lead discovery, shape strategy for your product domain, and drive iterative improvements that reduce friction and raise the quality of the learner experience. You will also act as a go-to expert within the team, helping raise the bar on product craft.
This is an individual-contributor role reporting to the Team Manager, Platform Product (ELL). The right candidate brings deep B2B product management experience, a user-first mindset, strong analytical rigour, and the technical fluency to engage as a genuine peer with engineering teams.
What You Will Do
- Lead definition and prioritisation of features across a significant product domain.
- Produce high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and product specifications that engineering and design can act on without ambiguity.
- Maintain a forward-looking roadmap for your product area, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and trade-offs.
- Champion customer needs with data and evidence throughout the product development cycle.
- Drive platform improvement initiatives in partnership with engineering, contributing to a faster and more reliable delivery environment.
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies — sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Mentor peers on product practice and help raise the standard of the wider team.
What We Are Looking For
- 7+ years of product management experience in a B2B or SaaS environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with autonomy on complex, ambiguous product problems.
- Strong analytical skills: comfortable defining metrics, interpreting data, and making evidence-based decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English; able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Hands-on agile experience and a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Technical fluency sufficient to engage meaningfully with engineering on architecture and feasibility.
- A track record of measurable product impact — features shipped, metrics moved, problems solved.
- Experience in edtech or with learning management systems is a plus. What We Offer
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Meaningful work: direct contribution to products used by millions of English learners worldwide.
- Opportunities for professional growth within a global product organisation.
- A collaborative, inclusive environment that values curiosity and continuous improvement.
