Role Description The Product Design & Development – In-charge role is a full-time, on-site position based in Verna. This role oversees the end-to-end design and development of assigned products, from concept and user requirement gathering through prototyping, validation, and handover to manufacturing. The position involves leading design activities, coordinating with R&D, engineering, quality, and production teams, and ensuring that product specifications meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. The In-charge is responsible for translating market and customer insights into practical product features, managing design documentation, and driving continuous improvements in usability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing design proposals, guiding user supervising visual and product design work, and supporting cross-functional teams during testing and ramp-up phases.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Product Design skills, including end-to-end product development and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Candidates should possess Design Thinking and UX Research skills to translate user needs and pain points into practical, user-centered product solutions.
- Candidates should possess User Research and Visual Design skills to gather insights from users and stakeholders and create clear, functional, and aesthetically coherent product designs.
- Candidates should possess the ability to work with cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and maintain detailed design documentation and specifications.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field are beneficial.
- Experience in appliance, consumer electronics, or EMS/ODM environments, along with familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality standards, is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on safety, reliability, and cost optimization, are highly valued.
