Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Furniture Product Designer at Paaya. The Furniture Product Designer will translate client briefs into functional, aesthetically cohesive furniture concepts and detailed design specifications. Day-to-day tasks include conducting user and space research, creating concept sketches, developing 2D and 3D design visuals, and iterating designs based on feedback from clients, architects, and internal stakeholders. The role involves collaborating closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with Paaya’s quality standards. The Furniture Product Designer will also support material selection, finishing options, and documentation for project-based execution across residential and commercial environments.
Qualifications
- Strong Product Design skills with experience in furniture or industrial design, supported by a portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in Design Thinking and User Research to understand client needs, spatial constraints, and usage patterns.
- Experience with UX Research and Visual Design to create user-centered, visually cohesive products and presentations.
- Ability to work with digital design tools (e.g., CAD software, 3D modeling, rendering tools) and produce clear technical drawings.
- Knowledge of materials, finishes, fabrication processes, and ergonomics relevant to furniture design.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with clients, architects, interior designers, and manufacturing teams in a remote setup.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a structured approach to project-based work and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
