Position: Technical Leader – CUCM Platform

Organization / Team: Cisco Unified Communications (UC) Engineering
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
Role Summary:
We are hiring a hands-on Senior Software Engineer for a generalist UC engineering role spanning CUCM ecosystem capabilities across platform, provisioning, and service integration areas. This role requires strong coding ownership, solution-level thinking, and the ability to deliver end-to-end features across UC components including endpoints, edge services, contact center services, and third-party integrations.
Hands-on AI-assisted engineering is mandatory, including practical use of Codex and GitHub Copilot for project execution, coding, debugging, and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain UC software features using C++, Python, Java, and shell scripting on Linux.
• Contribute across multiple layers including platform services, provisioning workflows, API/service integration, and operational tooling.
• Debug complex issues across application, service, data, networking, and Linux environments.
• Enhance test coverage across unit, integration, system, regression, and scale/performance layers.
• Use AI tools such as Codex and GitHub Copilot for coding and testing acceleration.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to secure SDLC practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 8+ years of software engineering experience in Linux/distributed environments.
• Strong programming proficiency in C++ and working proficiency in Python and/or Java.
• Knowledge of scalable/distributed architecture and troubleshooting.
• Experience improving test coverage and engineering quality.
• Practical use of AI coding tools in enterprise workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with UC products and provisioning systems.
• Understanding of VoIP and SIP concepts.
• Familiarity with virtualization/container ecosystems and security compliance.
