About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Networking Software Engineering Leader specializing in Pre-sales and Delivery to join our dynamic team in Bengaluru. This senior leadership role requires an individual with over 20 years of industry experience in network software engineering, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects and leading technical teams. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of wireline, wireless, access, core, transport, IP/MPLS, VNFs, and high-performance data plane technologies such as DPDK. The role involves owning end-to-end responsibility from pre-sales engagements through to successful project delivery, ensuring the development of scalable, efficient, and innovative networking solutions that meet customer requirements. The candidate will act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, a solution partner to sales teams, and a technical guide to delivery teams, ensuring high-quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 20+ years of experience in telecom or large-scale networking systems, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity managing technical teams.
- Extensive hands-on experience in network software engineering, including SD-WAN, routing, switching, firewalls, and packet processing technologies.
- Strong expertise in IP/MPLS, BGP, OSPF/ISIS, Segment Routing, EVPN/VXLAN, and related networking protocols.
- Deep knowledge of virtualization, NFV concepts, VNFs/CNFs, and telecom workloads on platforms such as Linux, containers, and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in high-performance data plane technologies, including DPDK, SR-IOV, NUMA, and system tuning for optimal throughput and latency.
- Experience in designing and developing RESTful services, DevOps practices, CI/CD workflows, and cloud-native applications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
- Proven experience in pre-sales activities, solution architecture, and managing complex delivery programs.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, understanding their requirements and translating them into comprehensive networking solutions.
- Lead technical discovery sessions, solution definition, and architecture discussions to develop tailored proposals.
- Support RFP/RFI responses, prepare detailed proposals, Statements of Work (SoWs), and deliver compelling solution presentations.
- Design end-to-end telecom solutions encompassing access, transport, core, and data plane architectures.
- Define and lead Proof of Concepts (PoCs) aligned with customer use cases, ensuring scalability, validation, and readiness for production deployment.
- Act as the technical owner during project delivery, guiding teams through detailed design, implementation, integration, and troubleshooting activities.
- Handle complex cross-domain technical escalations, ensuring solutions meet quality, performance, and customer satisfaction standards.
- Oversee multiple delivery programs across Tier1 customers, managing teams exceeding 300 personnel.
- Mentor and review the work of architects and engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
- Drive the adoption of technical standards, reusable assets, and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.
