Head of Technology

An established international organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Technology to lead its India technology function. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a strategic technology executive with a proven track record of building high-performing teams, delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions, and driving digital transformation initiatives.
The role combines strategic leadership, operational excellence, and stakeholder engagement to ensure technology capabilities support long-term business growth, innovation, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute the technology strategy in alignment with organisational objectives.
- Lead enterprise-wide technology transformation and modernisation initiatives.
- Drive innovation across applications, cloud platforms, integrations, and data ecosystems.
- Ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions that support business growth.
- Provide strategic guidance on technology investments, architecture, and emerging technologies.
IT Operations & Delivery
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of technology programs and projects.
- Establish governance frameworks, performance metrics, and reporting structures.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, security, and performance across technology platforms.
- Drive operational excellence through standardised processes and best practices.
- Monitor technology risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop large-scale technology teams across multiple disciplines.
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Drive workforce planning, capability development, succession planning, and performance management.
- Foster strong engagement across local and global technology teams.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business leaders to translate strategic objectives into technology solutions.
- Collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams to prioritise technology initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor on technology strategy, digital transformation, and operational improvements.
- Ensure alignment between business priorities and technology delivery.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
- Proven success leading large technology organisations and teams of 100+ professionals.
- Strong expertise in enterprise applications, cloud technologies (Azure preferred), integrations, and data platforms.
- Experience operating within global delivery and shared-services environments.
- Strong understanding of IT governance and operating frameworks including ITIL, TOGAF, and Agile methodologies.
- Demonstrated success delivering digital transformation and enterprise technology initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and operational leadership.
