Role Description The Design Manager role at HUB Interior is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The Design Manager will lead interior design projects from initial client briefing through concept development, detailed design, and final execution. Responsibilities include managing and mentoring designers, reviewing design proposals and drawings, coordinating with project managers, vendors, and contractors, and ensuring design quality, timelines, and budgets are met. The role involves conducting site visits, overseeing material and finish selections, and aligning designs with client expectations and company standards. The Design Manager will also support process improvements, contribute to design guidelines, and help build a collaborative, high-performing design team.
Qualifications
- Strong interior design and space planning capabilities, including concept development, detailed drawings, and material/finish selection.
- Project management skills, with experience in organizing workflows, managing timelines and budgets, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Leadership and team management abilities, including mentoring designers, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Client-facing skills such as presentation, negotiation, and the ability to translate client needs into practical, aesthetically sound design solutions.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design and visualization tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar), and comfort with basic office productivity software.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, with several years of experience in residential interior projects.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work on-site in Bengaluru on a full-time basis.
- Experience in managing high-volume residential projects and familiarity with local materials, vendors, and construction practices is an advantage.
