Role Description The Modular Furniture Designer role at ONE STOP MODULAR is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing modular furniture solutions, creating detailed design drawings, and preparing layout plans that meet client requirements and space constraints. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with clients and internal teams, selecting materials and finishes, coordinating with carpenters and production staff, and ensuring designs are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with brand standards. The role also involves site visits, measurements, and supervision of installation to ensure accurate execution of designs, as well as iterating on concepts based on feedback and functional performance. The designer is expected to maintain documentation, adhere to timelines, and contribute ideas for improving product offerings and design processes.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Furniture Design and Modular Furniture planning, with the ability to translate concepts into detailed technical drawings.
- Hands-on understanding of Carpentry and Furniture construction techniques to ensure designs are feasible and durable.
- Experience in Interior Design, including space planning, material selection, and coordinating furniture with overall interiors.
- Knowledge of Product Design principles, user-focused design, ergonomics, and functionality for modular furniture systems.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools) and ability to create 2D/3D visualizations.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work on multiple projects within deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, production teams, and installation staff.
- Diploma or degree in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Product Design, or a related field; prior experience in modular furniture is an advantage.
