IDOM's Rail & Transit team delivers RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) analysis and assurance across the full project lifecycle, aligned with CENELEC EN 50126 / 50128 / 50129 and Regulation (EU) 402/2013. We are looking for a Senior RAMS Engineer to strengthen our New Delhi team and support metro, high‑speed and conventional rail projects in India and internationally
Primary Responsibilities
- RAMS engineering and system assurance activities across the full project lifecycle (design, procurement, integration, T&C, operation).
- Define and apportion RAM targets at system and sub‑system level, and verify compliance of contractor deliverables.
- Develop and review RAM analyses: FMECA, FTA, RBD, MTBF/MTTR predictions, availability modelling and maintainability studies.
- Safety assurance activities: Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), SSHA, OSHA, HAZOP, Safety Case (as per EN 50129), CSM‑RA under EU Reg. 402/2013.
- Manage the Project Hazard Log and coordinate hazard identification, risk assessment and risk‑control implementation
- Interface with signalling, telecoms, traction, rolling stock, PSD, civil and integration teams to ensure RAMS integration.
- Support ISA/ASBO/DeBo/NoBo interfaces and independent assessments.
- Prepare RAMS plans, procedures, technical specifications and bid packages.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Systems or Railway Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in RAMS engineering for rail/metro systems.
- Solid working knowledge of CENELEC EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, IEC 62278/62279/62425 and Regulation (EU) 402/2013 (CSM‑RA).
- Experience in RAMS on CBTC, ETCS, MEP, civil, traction, rolling stock or integrated rail systems.
- Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder‑management skills.
Key Technical Competencies
- RAM analyses: FMECA, FTA, RBD, availability modelling, MTBF/MTTR predictions.
- Safety assurance: PHA/SSHA/OSHA/HAZOP, Safety Case, hazard‑log management, CSM‑RA.
- SIL apportionment and verification under EN 50129.
- FRACAS implementation and system‑assurance during T&C and early operation.
- Interface with ISA/DeBo/NoBo and independent safety assessors.
