About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Staff UX Designer for User-Centered Design Excellence to join our dynamic global team. In this pivotal role, you will lead strategic UX initiatives, elevate design quality standards, and foster consistency and innovation across Siemens Healthineers' extensive product and service portfolio. Your expertise will empower a global design organization, influence multiple projects simultaneously, and coach designers at various levels. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on healthcare technology by ensuring exceptional user experiences. Flexibility is a key aspect of this role, with options for mobile work within Germany up to 60% of hours and abroad for up to 30 days annually, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline. You should have extensive professional experience in User Experience, Interaction Design, or similar fields, with a compelling portfolio demonstrating design excellence and measurable business results. Proven leadership in managing complex design initiatives within agency or in-house environments is essential, along with experience guiding multiple stakeholders and projects concurrently. Familiarity with healthcare, medical technology, or highly regulated industries is highly desirable, providing insight into the unique challenges of designing for complex environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic UX leadership across multiple products, projects, and enterprise-wide initiatives, establishing interaction design excellence at scale.
- Coach and mentor designers and cross-functional teams to elevate UX quality, promoting impactful, user-centered design decisions throughout the development lifecycle.
- Create compelling UX visions, concepts, and narratives that inspire stakeholders and design teams, demonstrating hands-on leadership and exemplary work.
- Foster a thriving global design community through forums for collaboration, knowledge sharing, peer learning, and continuous innovation.
- Support design teams in solving complex challenges by designing innovative solutions, providing constructive feedback, and offering expert guidance across diverse initiatives.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles at all organizational levels, aligning teams and driving superior user experiences across the company's portfolio.
- Identify emerging trends, evolving best practices, and enhance global design capabilities to continuously advance design excellence within the organization.
