Electrical Engineering Manager – HV/MV Transformer Testing & Commissioning
Location: Paschim Vihar, New Delhi
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager with a strong background in HV/MV Transformer Testing & Commissioning, Protection Systems, and Substation Projects. The ideal candidate will lead Testing, Commissioning, and Relay Engineering teams while ensuring safe, efficient, and timely execution of transformer, switchyard, and power system commissioning activities across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage Testing, Commissioning, and Relay Engineering teams across multiple project sites.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise HV/MV transformer testing activities, including Insulation Resistance (IR), Winding Resistance, Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR), Polarity, Vector Group, Dielectric, and Functional Testing.
• Manage complete pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for power transformers, substations, and switchyards.
• Review and approve transformer energization procedures, interlock checks, OLTC functional testing, cooling system testing, and final commissioning documentation.
• Ensure protection relays, including Differential, Overcurrent, Earth Fault, REF, and other numerical relays, are correctly configured, tested, and integrated with SCADA and control systems.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety procedures, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), earthing, permit-to-work systems, and site safety regulations.
• Review commissioning reports, risk assessments, test packs, punch lists, QA/QC documentation, and final handover documents.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, project teams, OEMs, and site engineers to ensure smooth project execution and timely completion.
• Mentor engineering teams, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and commissioning procedures.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in HV/MV Transformer Testing & Commissioning, Protection Systems, Substation Commissioning, and Switchyard Projects.
• Proven experience in leading Testing, Commissioning, and Relay Engineering teams on EPC or power infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Power Transformers, GIS/AIS Substations, Protection Relays, SCADA, Switchyards, and Electrical Testing Equipment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in transformer manufacturing, testing, or commissioning environments.
• Experience working on EPC power projects.
• Exposure to utility, renewable energy, industrial, transmission, or distribution power projects.
• Strong understanding of protection coordination, relay testing, and electrical commissioning procedures.
• Willingness to travel extensively across India based on project requirements.
