Job Tittle: Implementation Engineer - POC & Customer Onboarding
Location: Mumbai (Bhandup)
Experience: 1 to 3 years
Salary: Upto 7.5 LPA
About The Company:
This is a cybersecurity-focused organization committed to building cyber awareness, practical skills, and industry readiness through hands-on training, workshops, simulations, and community-driven initiatives aiming to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world cybersecurity practices by creating engaging learning experiences and promoting digital safety among students and professionals.
This role is part of our sub-business unit, FOCTTA - a privacy compliance and governance platform that helps enterprises manage and comply with global data protection regulations such as DPDPA (India), GDPR (Europe), and CCPA (US). FOCTTA enables organizations to streamline privacy operations through solutions including consent management, data subject rights handling, breach reporting, cookie governance, and compliance monitoring. The platform works extensively with regulated industries like BFSI, healthcare, and telecom, helping businesses strengthen their data privacy framework and operational compliance.
About the Role:
Looking to hire two Implementation Engineers to work alongside the founder on customer POCs. As FOCTTA enters its POC phase with multiple enterprise customers in parallel, this role exists to be the hands-on technical owner of each POC - taking the implementation plan from the founder, executing it end-to-end at the customer site, doing the day-to-day troubleshooting, and escalating only the issues that genuinely require founder involvement. This is a high-ownership role inside a small, fast-moving team. You will be the customer's primary technical point of contact during their POC, working directly with their IT and security teams to land FOCTTA in their environment. Most of your work will be configuring tenants, wiring integrations, deploying widgets, running smoke tests, and writing up what you did so the next POC moves faster.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Own the end-to-end execution of customer POCs from kick-off to sign-off, following the implementation runbooks provided by the founder
• Provision new customer tenants on the FOCTTA platform, configure their consent banners and notices, set up their data connections, and verify everything works end-to-end in their environment
• Wire FOCTTA's integration hub to customer systems (SSO / SAML, webhooks, CRM and ITSM connectors, ticketing systems, etc.) by following per-customer integration playbooks
• Work directly with customer IT and security teams over email, calls, and screen shares - translate their requirements into platform configuration, answer their questions, capture their feedback in writing
• Run smoke tests and regression checks after every change, and document what you ran, what passed, and what didn't
• Diagnose and fix routine issues independently - wrong tenant configuration, missing permissions, browser or cookie issues, basic API errors, widget rendering problems
• Escalate issues that go beyond routine troubleshooting - schema bugs, regressions, unexpected platform behaviour, anything that needs design or code changes - to the founder, with a clean write-up of what you tried and what you observed
• Keep customer-facing documentation up to date (POC playbooks, runbooks, troubleshooting guides) so each subsequent POC is faster than the last
• Be available during customer business hours, including occasional after-hours work when a POC milestone, demo, or production cutover is on the line
What we're looking for:
Must-haves:
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience in software engineering, implementation engineering, solutions engineering, or technical support
• Comfortable reading and writing JavaScript or TypeScript - you will not be designing new product features, but you will need to read the codebase, follow stack traces, and occasionally make small configuration changes to TypeScript files
• Working knowledge of REST APIs - sending authenticated requests, reading JSON responses, understanding HTTP status codes
• Experience with browser developer tools - Network tab, Console tab, debugging frontend behaviour
• Strong written communication in English - you will be writing customer-facing emails, runbook updates, and escalation notes that need to be clear, complete, and professional
• A disposition to follow detailed instructions precisely, but also to think one step ahead when something doesn't behave as expected
• A disposition to escalate cleanly - knowing when you are stuck, packaging the context, and asking for help without losing momentum
Nice-to-haves:
• Exposure to React, TanStack Router or Query, Fastify, or Drizzle ORM (the stack you will be operating on)
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL - reading data, writing basic SQL, understanding rows and transactions
• Exposure to AWS or other cloud infrastructure • Familiarity with privacy, consent, GDPR, or DPDPA concepts (or a strong willingness to learn fast)
• Past customer-facing experience - implementation consulting, solutions engineering, or technical support at a SaaS company
• Exposure to BFSI or other regulated-industry customer environments
The mindset that fits this role:
You are someone who:
• Reads the runbook before pinging the founder
• Reproduces the issue before reporting it
• Verifies the fix in a real browser before saying "done"
• Writes down what you did so the next person on the team doesn't repeat your mistakes
• Treats customer trust as the most important currency on the team - never makes up an answer you don't know, never claims something is fixed when you haven't verified it
• Cares about the work being correct more than the work being fast; when both are possible, takes them both
What this role is not:
• This is not a feature-development role. You will not be designing new product capabilities. The founder owns the architecture and long-term roadmap; you own the customer execution.
• This is not a pure-support role either. You are the hands-on technical owner of each POC and will be expected to operate independently within a clearly defined scope.
Working setup:
• Reports directly to the founder
• Workspace: In office
• Tooling: company-issued laptop, access to staging and (with founder approval) production environments, internal documentation, customer communication channels
• Pace: high during POC ramp; steady once a POC enters its steady-state operations phase
