Role Description The Facade Designer will work on-site in Mumbai in a full-time capacity, supporting facade design and detailing for ongoing and upcoming projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing shop drawings, developing facade concepts, coordinating glazing and cladding details, and ensuring compliance with technical and aesthetic requirements. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, structural engineers, contractors, and suppliers to resolve design issues and ensure accurate implementation on site. The Facade Designer will participate in design reviews, conduct material and system research, and assist in preparing documentation and presentations for internal teams and clients. Attention to detail, adherence to project timelines, and commitment to safety and performance standards are key aspects of this role.
Qualifications
- Ability to produce and interpret detailed shop drawings for windows, facades, and related building elements.
- Strong understanding of facade systems, including facade design principles, performance criteria, and integration with building structure.
- Experience with cladding design and detailing, including selection of suitable materials and attachment systems.
- Knowledge of glazing systems, glass specifications, and interface details with other facade components.
- Proficiency in CAD and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools) for 2D and 3D documentation.
- Solid grasp of building codes, standards, and best practices related to façades, thermal performance, and safety.
- Diploma or degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
- Effective communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional project teams on-site.
- Relevant experience in facade or curtain wall design within the construction or building envelope industry is preferred.
