Role: Software Engineer - ServiceNow Platform
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer – ServiceNow Platform to join our Global Information Systems (GIS) organization as part of our growing ServiceNow Engineering team. This role will contribute to the design, development, enhancement, and support of enterprise ServiceNow solutions across Governance, Risk & Compliance (IRM/GRC), Security Operations (SecOps), IT Service Management (ITSM), and custom business applications.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in ServiceNow development, enjoys solving technical challenges, and is eager to grow into a well-rounded platform engineer. Working alongside senior engineers and architects, this individual will contribute to enterprise solutions while expanding their expertise in ServiceNow architecture, integrations, platform engineering, and emerging AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, configure, and support ServiceNow applications across IRM/GRC, SecOps, ITSM, and custom scoped applications.
- Configure and extend platform capabilities using Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, App Engine, Service Catalog, Service Portal, CMDB, and enterprise integrations.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and maintainable ServiceNow solutions.
- Participate in solution design discussions and contribute technical ideas that align with platform standards and best practices.
- Develop and support integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise applications using REST APIs and IntegrationHub.
- Contribute to code reviews, testing, debugging, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure solution quality.
- Support modern ServiceNow engineering practices, including Git-based source control, ServiceNow SDK, Automated Test Framework (ATF), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Explore emerging ServiceNow capabilities, including Now Assist and Generative AI features, while continuously expanding technical expertise and platform knowledge.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–5 years of software engineering experience, including hands-on ServiceNow platform development.
- Experience developing and supporting custom ServiceNow applications and enhancements.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture and development best practices.
- Experience supporting one or more of the following ServiceNow areas:
- IRM / GRC (Policy & Compliance, Risk Management, Vendor Risk Management, or Privacy Management)
- ITSM (Incident Management, Service Catalog, Service Portal, CMDB, SLA Management)
- Platform Development (Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, App Engine, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, REST APIs)
- Experience developing integrations with enterprise applications using REST APIs or IntegrationHub.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting concepts.
- Familiarity with Git-based source control and an interest in modern ServiceNow development using the ServiceNow SDK.
- Exposure to CI/CD concepts and Automated Test Framework (ATF) is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- Progress toward or interest in pursuing ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications.
- Experience working with Information Security, Governance, Risk, or Compliance teams.
- Exposure to Agile software development methodologies.
- Interest in AI-powered capabilities within the ServiceNow platform, including Now Assist and Generative AI.
- Curiosity to learn enterprise architecture, platform engineering, integration patterns, and modern software development practices.
