We are looking for a Senior Agentic DevXP Engineer with 9 to 12 years of experience to modernise our software delivery platform and evolve Developer Experience toward an AI-enabled, agentic model. The role blends CI/CD platform engineering with practical AI application, focused on real engineering problems such as pipeline migration, automation, code understanding, and testing enablement. This is not an AI research role.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. CI/CD and Platform Engineering
- Migrate legacy Jenkins pipelines to GitHub Actions
- Build reusable workflows, templates, and standards to reduce fragmentation across teams
- Improve visibility and observability across all delivery flows
2. AI-Assisted Engineering
- Apply AI to accelerate migrations, code analysis, testing, and documentation
- Create safe, repeatable AI workflows with robust validation layers
- Define repository standards covering metadata, documentation, and templates to ensure AI tools have sufficient context to operate effectively
- Integrate AI into engineering workflows across GitHub, CI/CD, and Jira
- Define guardrails around access, validation, peer review, and security
3. Platform Adoption
- Onboard engineering teams to standardised CI/CD and AI practices
- Provide golden paths, documentation, and starter templates
- Drive adoption through iterative feedback loops and user-centric solutions
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
1. Platform and Scale
- Built platform or developer experience tooling that other engineering teams actually adopted, not just your own team
- Worked across multiple repositories and teams simultaneously
- Created reusable workflows, templates, or golden paths that others consumed
- Driven adoption, documentation, onboarding, and migration across teams: owns outcome, not just delivery
2. CI/CD and Engineering
- Understands workflow orchestration, feedback loops, secrets management, environment handling, reuse patterns, and failure handling
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, Bash, TypeScript, or Go, used to build real tooling, not just scripts
- Working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes in a CI/CD context
- Deep understanding of GitHub workflows: PRs, CODEOWNERS, branch protection, and repository standards
- GitHub Actions experience preferred, Jenkins migration experience a bonus
3. Agentic and AI Practices
- Can define and implement repository standards including metadata, documentation, instructions files, and templates so AI tools have sufficient context to operate
- Basic understanding of LLMs, agent harnesses, context management, deterministic vs probabilistic workflows, and guardrail concepts
- Can articulate when deterministic tooling is preferred over probabilistic LLM output and understands failure modes
- Solid understanding of AI risks in engineering: hallucinations, security vulnerabilities, and over-automation
- Understands how repository-level AI context works and how instructions files, prompt files, and metadata shape agent behaviour
- Practical daily usage of Copilot, Claude Code, or equivalent is a strong plus
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- 9 to 12 years of overall experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or a related field
- Ability to own a platform modernisation roadmap end to end, from conception through execution
- Delivers tangible tooling and automation, not just strategy documents or recommendations
- Turns emerging AI capabilities into practical, everyday engineering workflows
- Influences teams through highly usable solutions and clear examples, not authority
- Has taken an experimental AI concept and operationalised it in a production engineering context is a strong plus
