About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Networking Software Engineering Leader specializing in Pre-sales and Delivery to join our dynamic team in Bengaluru. This senior leadership role requires a deep technical expertise in network software engineering, with a focus on telecommunications systems. The successful candidate will own the end-to-end process from pre-sales technical engagement through to successful delivery and deployment. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, a solution architect for sales teams, and a technical guide for delivery teams, ensuring the successful execution of proof of concepts (PoCs) and production-grade deployments.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over 20 years of industry experience in network software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing large teams. A proven track record in pre-sales and delivery ownership within the telecom or large-scale networking domain is essential. Candidates should have extensive experience working with telecom operators, OEMs, or large enterprises, along with strong communication skills, especially in engaging with executive stakeholders. Hands-on expertise in network architecture, system design, and deployment, combined with a pragmatic and authoritative technical approach, are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Pre Sales & Customer Engagement: Act as the primary technical interface with customers, leading discovery sessions, solution definition, and architecture discussions. Translate business and operational requirements into comprehensive technical solutions. Support RFP/RFI responses, proposals, Statements of Work (SoWs), and deliver compelling solution presentations.
- Architecture & PoC Leadership: Design end-to-end telecom solutions across access, transport, core, and data plane components. Define and lead Proof of Concepts (PoCs) aligned with customer use cases, ensuring they are scalable, validated, and ready for production deployment.
- Delivery & Technical Governance: Serve as the technical owner during project delivery, guiding teams on detailed design, implementation, integration, and troubleshooting. Handle complex cross-domain technical escalations, ensuring high solution quality, optimal performance, and customer satisfaction. Manage multiple delivery programs, often involving large teams of 300+ engineers, across Tier-1 customers.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor and review architects and engineers, promote best practices, and drive the development of reusable assets. Lead initiatives for technical standards, continuous improvement, and innovation within the organization.
- Core Technical Expertise: Demonstrate deep knowledge in networking protocols such as IP/MPLS, BGP, OSPF/ISIS, Segment Routing, EVPN/VXLAN, and domains including wireline, wireless (LTE/5G), access, transport, and core networks. Expertise in virtualization technologies like VNFs/CNFs, NFV concepts, high-performance data plane technologies such as DPDK, and platforms including Linux, containers, and Kubernetes.
