About the job
Role Overview We are looking for an experienced C++ Developer to join our low latency trading infrastructure team. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on expertise in high-performance C++ systems, working knowledge of NSE, BSE, and MCX exchange protocols, and experience building and maintaining production-grade API stacks used by trading desks, algo strategies, and risk systems. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and optimize ultra-low latency trading systems in modern C++ (C++17/20), covering order management, market data handling, and execution pathways. - Build and maintain connectivity to NSE (NNF/NEAT/co-location feeds), BSE (BOLTPLUS/BEFS), and MCX protocols — including order entry, market data (FO/CM/CD segments), and risk/RMS interfaces. - Contribute to the architecture and lifecycle of the firm's internal API stack — REST/FIX/proprietary binary APIs used by internal trading applications, strategy engines, and external clients. - Design efficient data structures and algorithms for order books, matching logic, tick-by-tick market data processing, and position/risk tracking under strict latency budgets (microsecond-level). - Profile, benchmark, and continuously optimize system performance — CPU cache behavior, memory allocation, lock-free/wait-free structures, kernel bypass networking (e.g., DPDK, Solarflare/OpenOnload), and NIC/OS tuning. - Participate in design and code reviews; help uphold coding standards and best practices across the C++ codebase. - Collaborate closely with quants, traders, and DevOps/network engineers to ensure end-to-end latency and reliability targets are met. - Support exchange certifications, protocol upgrades, and compliance with SEBI/exchange-mandated changes. - Own production support and incident response for latency-sensitive, mission-critical trading systems. Required Skills & Experience - 3–6+ years of professional software development experience, with strong, hands-on C++ (C++11/14/17/20) expertise. - Prior experience building low latency / high frequency trading (HFT) systems, ideally with some exposure to a live production environment. - Working experience with, or strong working knowledge of, exchange connectivity protocols — NSE (NNF, NEAT, CTCL/co-location), BSE (BOLTPLUS, BEFS), MCX (commodity derivatives protocols). - Good understanding of FIX protocol and/or proprietary binary exchange protocols. - Solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms optimized for latency and throughput (lock-free queues, ring buffers, custom memory pools/allocators, cache-friendly designs). - Experience contributing to or maintaining API stacks (REST, WebSocket, FIX, or proprietary binary APIs), including versioning and documentation practices. - Good grasp of multithreading, concurrency, and synchronization in latency-sensitive contexts. - Familiarity with Linux performance tuning (CPU affinity/isolation, NUMA, huge pages, kernel bypass networking) — willingness to deepen this under the Lead's guidance. - Some exposure to market data feed handlers, order management systems (OMS), and/or risk management systems (RMS) in the capital markets domain. - Good debugging and profiling skills using tools like gdb, perf, Valgrind, Intel VTune, or similar. Good to Have - Exposure to NSE NNF 6.x/7.x, BSE BOLT+, MCX FIX/CTCL connectivity or certification processes. - Exposure to algo trading platforms, smart order routing (SOR), or co-location trading setups. - Knowledge of Python or shell scripting for tooling, automation, and monitoring. - Familiarity with market microstructure, order types, and risk/margin frameworks specific to Indian exchanges. - Experience with messaging systems (e.g., Aeron, ZeroMQ, Kafka) in low latency contexts. Qualifications - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
